Carrie Bell Hines

March 2, 1937 — March 30, 2014

Mrs. Carrie Bell Hines gained her Heavenly wings and flew into the kingdom of God on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the age of 77 years. She was born March 2, 1937 in Selma, Alabama to George and Louisiana Brown.
Carrie was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She obtained her high school diploma in 1949. In 1962 she joined Henry Hines in holy matrimony. He survives her. Carrie was a faithful member of United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dale Tatum. She was a leader in the community. Carrie was affiliated with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Saginaw. She loved ministering to the poor and needy. Carrie would often provide baked goods to help lift their spirits. Her wonderful presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, Henry Hines; two daughters, Doris (Ernest) Scott and Dr. Virginia Hines; four sons, Henry Jr. (Angelina), Booker (Bertha), Herman and Sonny (Dawn) Hines; her grandchildren, Quinten Lamar Strong, Cantrell McFarlin, Krista Jimenez, Alexandra T. Salmond, Makayla Carrie Hines, Justin and Christopher Hines; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Isaiah McFarlin; one sister, Ethel Drain; three brothers, Reverend Ernest (Ethel) Brown, Reverend Arthur (Annie) Brown and James (Mary) Brown; several nieces and nephews including Jackie Thomas, Amanda Cashaw, Cosetta Henley, Lois Robinson, Alice Robinson, Mary McDonald, George Allen, Nathaniel, Jessie James and Willie George Drain, Louise Watkins, Silas Smith, Joe Smith, Lorraine Smith; many other relatives and friends including the many community leaders she has worked with throughout the years.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Louisiana Brown, sisters, Jeanette Miller, Helen Anderson, Reverend Willie Mae Harvey, Reverend Mary Pierce and Elizabeth Foster, one brother, Willie Brown.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Maria Klahre, the staff of Covenant Healthcare and everyone who offered kind words, prayers and condolences.
