Bobbie Jean Hardy (Lansing)

Ms. Bobbie Jean Fly-Hardy received her wings on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 58 years. She was born August 20, 1961 in Shaw, Mississippi, to the proud parents of Henrietta Fly-Silas and Willie Silas.

Bobbie grew up in Shaw, Mississippi and attended Shaw High School. During her adolescence, Bobbie went to live with her maternal grandmother, Hattie M. Mitchell, who she loved dearly. Bobbie confessed her belief in Christ at an early age at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Shaw, Mississippi. In 1979, Bobbie move to Chicago, Illinois for better living and opportunity. In 1980, she attended Tilden High School, but completed her studies in Job Corps. For years, Bobbie worked as an Activity Program Coordinator at Chase Nursing Homes and took on a second job as a private home care provider. In 1998, Bobbie moved to Lansing, Michigan, where she visited many churches and later joined Greater Lansing Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Duncan, Jr. Bobbie was very immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support. She truly lived life to the fullest as one of the kindest, compassionate and unselfish people you could ever meet. Bobbie opened her heart and home and touched the hearts of all she came in contact with. A light in this dark world has dimmed with her contagious smile gone. For those who have known and loved Bobbie in her fruitful journey with us, the family wishes to thank all of you who cared for her during her last days. She is truly missed by her family, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving children: Keosha (Adrian) Fly-Lewis, Octavian (Melissa) Fly, Kanesha (Ernest) Fly-Bell, Karl Lindsey Jr. and Johnathan Hardy; five grandchildren: Jacob Fike, Joshua Fly, Deanna Shelton, Quinshana Louden and Jaylin Louden; great grandson: Josiah Fly; two sisters: Princy Thomas and Valerie Silas; three brothers: Earl Flone, Edward Silas, Clifton (Chantell) Silas; two nieces: Angela Thomas and Andrienne Thomas; five nephews: Andre Thomas, Jaboris Silas, Dale Silas, Steven Silas and Larry Silas; aunt: Elnora Fly; two uncles: Jerry Fly and David (Gwen) Fly; many other relatives and friends including a very special and devoted friend, Quincy Shannon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kent.
