Benjamin Watson

May 30, 1953 — December 13, 2019

Our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, Benjamin Watson, Sr. departed from us on December 13, 2019. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan to James and Mary Watson on May 30, 1953.

Ben attended Saginaw High School and graduated with the “Class of 1971.” He became employed at Saginaw Steering Gear and was a member of UAW Local 699. After working for a while, Ben completed auto mechanic training. He continued to further his automotive training and later became a certified truck driver.

Ben was very passionate about bowling and was a very skilled bowler. He was affectionately known by his bowling peers as “BMW.” One of his biggest accomplishments was bowling two perfect games of “300.” Ben also loved playing dominoes and was a great mechanic. Most recently, he was working as a church musician and van driver.

Ben’s presence, laughter and smile is forever etched in our hearts and memory. He will not be forgotten, and he is not lost to us for we know exactly where he is. And we will see you later until we meet again.

Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Rose M. Watson; daughter, Felicia Watson; and parents, James and Mary Watson.

He leaves to celebrate his life three children, Benjamin Watson, Jr., Terrance D. Watson, Luanda Canty, all of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Chaun’terria Watson, Sharmaine Monroe, D’Anthony Canty, Kahlease, Tyrease, Tyri Watson; siblings, James (Mary) Watson, Vera (Edward) Jones, Demiester Watson, Tina McMillon, Theodore (Charity) Watson, Cecil (Elease) Watson; special sister and brother-in-law, Jerome and Marie Miller; special cousin, Sylvia Burnes Boose; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friend Kent McClain “Strutty.”
