Ayten Crockette (Lansing)

Ms. Ayten Crockette  “Toni” made her transition on Monday, June 6, 2022, at her home in Lansing, Michigan, at the age of 51 years old. She was born on August 26, 1970, in Lansing, Michigan to her parents, Lillian McClain and Frank Crockette.

Ayten was a resident of Lansing, Michigan, and a member of Galilee Baptist Church. She attended Lansing Eastern High School. Ayten was currently working to obtain her GED through Michigan Works. She was employed with Peckham, Incorporated. Ayten loved driving around in her car with her seat leaned back, keeping her car clean by going to the car wash, singing, and having fun. She also loved to dance, getting her nails done, spending time at family functions, and being around her children and grandchildren. Toni was a little cocky, but she loved everyone.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Darrell Crockette, Nukeshia James, Naesharrah Crockette, and Nichelle Thompson; grandchildren, Sincere Johnson, Omarion Crockette, DaéMoni Johnson, NaéArie Johnson, DeMarion Hoyle, LaVéah Earvin, ÉMiya Johnson, Isreal Crockette, and LáNiyah Phelps; Mother, Lillian Couthen; Siblings, Lonya Crockette, Tiajuana Young, Michelle Couthen, Steven (Ada) Couthen, Frank Parks “Frankie”, Robert Couthen; aunts, Odessa West, Carolyn Charles, Wilma Rhodes, Josephine Crockette, and Defaphine Crockette; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Crockette; stepfather, Arthur Couthen; grandmothers, Equator Williams and Mattie Crockette.
