Antoine Jackson

February 11, 1941 — April 13, 2015

Antoine Jackson was chosen to sing in the heavenly choir by the Lord, on April 13, 2015 surrounded by his family whom loved him dearly. Antoine was born to Johnny and Mary Jackson on February 11, 1941 in Hammond, Louisiana.
Mr. Jackson eventually moved to Saginaw, Michigan to make a life for himself. He was joined in marriage to the late Leotha Jackson where they conceived five wonderful children Antoine Jr., Hilton, Larce, Vellis and Derwin. For 37 years, Antoine was a faithful employee with General Motors and was a member of the UAW Local. He was also a member of Candlelight Baptist Church where he was dedicated to singing with the male chorus. He was well-known as one of the greatest quartet singers in Saginaw, Michigan where he became a lead singer in gospel groups such as the Heavenly Harmonizers, Solid Rock and the Rocks of Harmony, warming the hearts of everyone who heard his unique voice. He made his legendary mark singing songs like Nobodys Fault and When the Gate Swings Open. One of his other well-known hobbies was being a cement finisher. Everywhere he went he made sure that he smelled good and dressed like a million dollars. Antoine was strong, giving, easy to get along with and loved his family.
Antoine will be missed but his legacy lives on through his two daughters: Larce Humphrey and Lisa (Terrance) Wright of Saginaw, Michigan; seven sons, Hilton (Gilda) Jackson, Vellis (Sandra) Jackson, Mark (Dwan) Bryant of Saginaw, Michigan, Jason Wright of Bay City, Michigan, Derwin (Monique) Jackson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mark (Gloria) Bridgewater and Bobby (Cacelia) McCaskey of Hammond, Louisiana; five sisters, Diane Norman, Roberta (William) Jones of Saginaw, Michigan, Thelma (Adolf) Legard of Indianapolis, Indiana, Orleans (Pastor Bobby) Showers, Louise Collier of Hammond, Louisiana; eight brothers, Pastor Johnny (Barbara) Jackson Sr., John (Ruby) Jackson Sr., Dave (Dorothy) Jackson, Louis (Inell) Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan, Andrew (Terri) Jackson of California, Michael (Kochackie) Jackson, and Eddie (Mary) Jackson of Hammond, Louisiana; he also leaves to cherish his memory thirty grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends, James Knox, Willie T and James Johnson.
