Anita Louise Jones, best known to family and friends as Nicki, finished her earthly journey at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at age 53. Nicki was born August 28, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was the fourth child of Henry Lee and Clara Easter Jones. The love of her life and her crowning achievement was the birth of her only child, Jesse James Davis Jr., who survives her.
Nicki was a life-long resident of Saginaw, graduating from Saginaw High School in 1975. She attended Delta College. She loved working with people and made many friends during her retail employment at Robert Hall, K-Mart and Meijers. Those who knew her well will remember Nickis wonderful sense of humor. It was dry, and sometimes cutting, but always on the mark. Her mischievous smile, the twinkle in her eyes and her deep laughter will be greatly missed.
Besides her loving son Jesse and a beloved grandson, Jesse James Davis III, Nicki leaves behind a family legacy of her parents Henry Lee Sr. and Clara Easter Jones; one older sister Evelyn Loretta Sykes (Anthony) of Alhambra, California; two older brothers: Henry Lee Jr. Peter (Debra) Jones of Bay City and David Maurice Jones of Saginaw; aunt Bernice Jackson of Tyronza, Arkansas; cousin James Evans (Joyce) of Saginaw, nephew: William A. Sykes; nieces: Reena L. Meredith, Stephanie L. Jones, Alysia M. Jones, Sasha P. Jones, Cherelle S. Jones and Ebony Washington; great-nephews: DeAndre L. Meredith, Eugene A. Watkins, Kadrian Q. Cooper; great-nieces: Lakisha L. Jones, Janae W. Jones, Tequila S. Jones, Uniqua R. Jones, Aubrianna L. Jones, Damaira S. Jones, Krystina M. Jones; second cousins: Earvin King of Vassar, Veronica Evans; Cassandra Evans and her family of D-arius and Dra-maris; Felicia Evans and her family of Cienna and Floyd, as well as a host of many friends who loved her and will greatly miss her.
