Mr. Alfonso Tinsley (Fons) passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 at St. Marys of Michigan. Age 45 years. He was born March 10, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan to Williett Weathers and Barbara Tinsley (John Burton).
Alfonso was employed for Saginaw Board of Education for 22 years. He coached football and basketball at Webber Middle School. Al was a member of Mt. Olive Institutional
Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board. He loved playing spades and attending basketball games.
He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Domonique and Anita Phillips, Charnay Stinson, Alexis Tinsley, Candice Tatum; grandchildren, Kevionna Stephens, Rickya Davis, LaToyea Harris, Travaiohn Truss, DAnthony Taylor; parents, John and Barbara Burton; two sisters, Yvonne Chisolm, Linda (Sylvester) Howard; six brothers, Anthony (Carolyn) Redeemer, Arthur (Judy) Weathers, Anthony Hunt, Horace (Anita) Weathers, Williett Jr. (Lolita) Weathers, Deon Weathers; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including special cousins, Woodrow (Audrey) Kellum, Allen (Lovie) Young; special friends, Cassen Gates, Larrell Thomas, Tim Prince, Alvin Pratt, Derrick Martin and all of his friends from the Southside. The family would like to express a special thanks to Pastor Marvin T. Smith and the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church family; Pastor Dale Tatum and the United Missionary Baptist Church family and Alga Jones.
Al was preceded in death by his father, Williett Weathers; grandparents, Walter (Ida) Tinsley, Horace (Malicia) Weathers; brothers, Duane (Fly) Tinsley and Ronnie Howard.
