Alan L. Jackson, Jr. (Lansing)

September 16, 1994 — April 14, 2022

Mr. Alan LaVon Jackson, Jr. passed away on April 14, 2022, as a victim of gun violence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 27 years. Alan was born on September 16, 1994, to Alan Jackson, Sr. and Nikki Lynn Squires in Lansing, Michigan.

Alan was many things to many people. He was an amazing Uncle who loved his nieces so very much, as well as all his bonus nieces and nephews.    Lil Al was a brother that was so very protective of his siblings. He could argue and fight with all of them but protected them from everyone.  He was a beloved son and grandson.  Alan was a son that gave his parents a run for their money…he was a challenging child… and it took a minute for him to learn from his mistakes…but learn he did…Alan was a son that was so genuine and supportive of his parents…He always had their back.

Alan was a genuine, silly, goofy person who loved fiercely. His Family was everything to Alan. He was at every family function no matter the occasion and was always glad to have his people around. He could always be counted on to be the entertainment. He was always the life of the party with his silliness and his jokes. He truly was one person that you could be so mad at and want to fight but you ended up laughing with him because he was going to do something silly to make you laugh. No one was safe, everyone got roasted by Alan!

Alan had his serious side as well. The side where he reflected on how his life was going and how he continued to strive to be the BEST version of himself.  Alan was an amazing big/little brother; he was fiercely protective of his sisters and his little/big brother Bubba…Alan always told those he loved how proud he was of them and to keep pushing forward.

Alan touched many people’s lives in his short time with us and the memories that he created with every one of us. We will all hold those memories close to our heart. If there is anything to be learned today, life is so short. Hold your loved ones close. Tell them that you love them. Don’t let petty grievances destroy your love and friendship. These are the things that Alan would want to say to you.

Alan is survived by his father, Alan Jackson, Sr.; sisters, Dymond and Natasha Squires; brother, Brandon (Maryam) Jackson; nieces, Kyanna and RaeLynn; aunts, Sonya, Anita, Marla, Regina, and Heather; grandmothers, Mary Jackson and Linda Squires; many other relatives and friends including his girlfriend, Jabrea Morris.

Alan was preceded by his mother, Nikki Lynn Squires; grandfathers, Cleveland Jackson and Dennis Squires.

“Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.” Anonymous

Alan missed his Mom more than anything…Lil Alan and Nikki Lynn are together…Rest Easy
