Addie Lee Salter 'Skip'

On Monday, February 2, 2015 the angels of Heaven transcended to earth to carry Mr. Addie Lee Salter Skip home to be with the Lord. Age 63 years. He was born November 6, 1951 in Soperton, Georgia to Fannie Mae Salter.
Addie was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He retired after 30 years of faithful service with General Motors Corporation and was also a member of UAW Local 467. He attended Delta College while working at First Ward Community Center as a maintenance worker. Addie loved the Lord and he enjoyed attending church. He had previously attended Christ Deliverance Center under the leadership of the late Apostle Glenn Nichols and Pastor Verda Nichols. There he served faithfully as a greeter and usher. Addie recently attended Christ Kingdom Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Edward Jackson where he enjoyed Sunday school and Bible study. Addie enjoyed basketball and walking for exercise. He loved drinking cappuccino every day and eating pizza for lunch at Pizza Hut. Addie was a wonderful person whose presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy one daughter, Gail (Rashad) LaFlore of Minnesota; one son, Alan Salter of Saginaw, Michigan; two grandchildren, Jasmin Brooks and Jabari LaFlore both of Minnesota; one sister, Margie Noel of Saginaw, Michigan; the mother of his children, Sandra Salter; his very special friend, patient advocate and caregiver, Deborah Templeton; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Kitty, Vera, Sam and Dawn.
Addie was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Mae Salter, one daughter, Shana Salter, three brothers, Simon Lee Salter, Johnny Salter and Cornelius Salter, his foster mother, Annie Simpson Grand.
The family wishes to express special thanks to A & D Hospice Care, his caregivers, Peaches Foster and Mildred Long Middy and everyone who offered kind words, condolences and prayers.
