Johnnie moved from Caruthersville, Missouri at an early age. He retired from General Motors and was a member of UAW Local #668. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, working on cars and small handyman projects. One of his great joys in life was being a great supporter to his mother's ministry at New Faith Temple Church, which he continued to support after her passing.

He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Veronica Bond, Crystal Jackson, Racquel Simmons all of Saginaw, Michigan, Kristina (Michael) DeLuze of Kailua, Hawaii, two sons, Johnnie Jr. III ( Shontrell) Simmons, Jonathan Simmons both of Saginaw, Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Simmons, Saginaw, Michigan; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Simmons Jr. and Roberta Paige.

You influenced my life a great deal. I thank you for giving me the joy of a beautiful daughter as well. I will always remember you telling me to " never say goodbye, just say later". Rest in peace Johnnie.

Crystal, we are sending our sincere sympathy, thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Johnnie had a sense of humor that will always be remembered and he will be missed. Our friend has gone home to be with the Lord. Remember that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May the Lord give your family strength and peace during this difficult time in your life. God Bless you all. Mack & Marjorie.

To the Simmons family, you are truly in my prayers during this most difficult time. I have known this family for a long, long time. I recall your father's beautiful smile. The Psalmist says, Look to the hills from whence cometh your help, your help cometh from the Lord. The Lord will see you through.

Dad it's so hard to believe that you are going. You would never let us say good bye to you because you said it was forever. But now we have to say good bye an that is the hard part because you left us so quickly. We knew that you loved us and we loved you. I don't have to tell you anything because we told you thank you for all you done for us and how much we love you so now all I can say is that me, jungle bunny and big man will miss you very much.

Love you Dad
